Thankfulness is appreciation for life

Yesterday’s search for a book of writing prompts I thought was not mine and had yet to appreciate was replaced by a digital counterpart this morning, my journaling software.

A feature I forgot existed, as it only seems to work on the computer and not with my mobile phone.

The prompt was the same question as my woman used to ask me frequently during one of our emotional check-ins, I guess you could call it.

What three things are you most thankful for today?

I used to find answering difficult, and I was uncomfortable participating.

Soon enough, my attitude changed, and not only did it better connect me with my woman but also myself and how I relate with the world.

These are the 3 things I am thankful for today:

  1. I am grateful for the difficulties, large and small, I encounter as they help me to forge a strong character
  2. I am grateful for the support and encouragement I receive from those who believe I can achieve anything
  3. I am grateful that I am at a point in my life where I can look back at the stories I have created and smile from the heart.

Any time given to reflection provides insights into the soul, adjusts your perspectives, and instills the seeds of appreciation for life and your place in it.

Let us take purposeful moments to truly feel alive and to, of course…

be thankful.
